Our Story

Founded by Jake Alfonzo, ALFONZO creates pieces designed to ignite wonder. Drawing on ancient history, folklore, numerology, and the stars, each design is crafted with intention—meant to feel both unexpected and strangely familiar.

Jake began his practice through hands-on mentorship in metalsmithing, guided by a belief in adornment as lasting expression. His early silver nameplates embodied this ethos: made by hand, worn close, and created as declarations of self.

Today, ALFONZO carries that vision forward—crafting jewelry that reflects identity, holds memory, and invites personal connection. These are objects to be worn, lived with, and passed forward.

Order Processing & Shipping

Processing Time

Each ALFONZO piece is made-to-order with care. Please allow 2–4 weeks for production unless otherwise noted on the product page. Some items are ready-to-ship.

For bespoke or highly customized orders, production can take up to 8–12 weeks depending on the scope of the piece — we’ll always communicate timelines clearly during the design process.

If you need something sooner, don’t hesitate to contact us.

Shipping

Once your piece is complete, you’ll receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking details. We ship via UPS, DHL, FedEx, USPS, with the following estimated delivery times:

  • Domestic (U.S.): 2–5 business days
  • International: 7–14 business days (customs processing may vary)
Duties & Taxes

For international orders, duties and taxes may be charged upon arrival, depending on your country’s policies. These are the responsibility of the buyer.

Shipping Costs

Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on your location and shipping method. Complimentary shipping is available on orders over $500.

Returns & Exchange

We want you to love what you receive.

All bespoke and made-to-order pieces are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged. These pieces are crafted specifically for you, and we stand behind their intention and individuality.

For all other items, we accept returns or exchanges within 7 days of delivery, provided the piece is unworn, in its original condition, and returned with all packaging.

To request a return or exchange:
  • Please email orders@alfonzonyc.com with your order number and reason for return. We'll respond with next steps.
Please note:
  • Return shipping is the responsibility of the customer.
  • We recommend using a trackable, insured shipping method.
  • Original shipping fees are non-refundable.
  • ALFONZO is not responsible for items lost or damaged in transit.

FAQ

What’s the difference between bespoke, made-to-order, and one-of-a-kind pieces?
Made-to-Order (MTO)

These are crafted just for you, based on an existing ALFONZO design. You choose the size—and in some cases, the metal or stone—and we begin once your order is placed.

One-of-a-Kind Editions

Occasionally, we release small runs of one-of-a-kind versions of our made-to-order designs. These use unique stones or materials we’ve sourced in limited quantity—once they’re gone, they’re truly gone.

Bespoke

A fully custom piece, designed in collaboration with you from the ground up. Bespoke pieces are one-of-one, built around your story, your vision, and our shared aesthetic.

Ring Sizing & Availability

Most of our rings are stocked in a standard size—typically size 6 and size 9—and crafted in 14k or 18k yellow gold.

If your size isn’t in stock, we’re happy to resize the piece when possible, or remake it in your size. Some designs may require a full remake to preserve their integrity and intention.

Not every style is held in inventory at all times. If there’s a piece you’re considering, we recommend reaching out to our Client Care team to confirm availability and sizing options.

Warranty

We stand by what we make.

If your piece ever needs repair due to a craftsmanship issue, we’ll take care of it—no labor charge. You cover shipping, and we’ll handle the rest.

If materials are needed for the repair, including gemstones, we’ll notify you before proceeding. The cost of materials—especially replacement gemstones—is not covered under warranty.

We strongly recommend insuring your jewelry for its full replacement value.

While we craft each piece to endure, loss or damage to stones can happen—and should be protected.

 

This warranty covers:
  • Manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship
  • Normal wear repairs within reason (clasps, chains, settings)
This warranty does not cover:
  • Replacement of lost or damaged gemstones
  • Cost of materials required for repair
  • Lost or stolen items
  • Damage from improper care, accidents, or third-party alterations

  • Avoid contact with chlorine, harsh chemicals or abrasive surfaces
  • Clean gently with warm water, mild soap and a soft cloth
  • Store separately to avoid scratching
Sterling Silver
  • Clean gently with warm water, mild soap and a soft cloth
  • Store separately in soft pouches to avoid scratching
  • Wear often, silver maintains its finish better with touch
Pearls
